LTE technology provides many enhancements such as high speed data rates, low latency and spectrum flexibility. The evolution of LTE toward LTE-Advanced allows the introduction of new features such as carrier aggregation, enhanced intercell interference coordination (ICIC) for heterogeneous networks (HetNets), and enhanced multiple - antenna transmission.
